Joint recommendation to be presented in steroids case


COUNTY - Lawyers next week will lay out a joint recommendation that is expected to deal with sentencing and proceeds of crime matters in a case involving a Bridgewater man who admits to running an international steroids business from his home for three years.

 Defence and prosecuting attorneys agreed January 30 in Bridgewater provincial court to make their presentations in Lunenburg provincial court on February 9.

 Kevin Wayne Tanner, 40, pleaded guilty January 12 to eight charges.

 Those offences relate to smuggling controlled substances into the country, evading paying duties on importedcontrolled substances, producing an anabolic steroid, trafficking in anabolic steroids, possessing anabolic steroids for the purpose of trafficking, and selling knock-offs of Viagra, Cialis and Nolva contrary to the Food and Drugs Act.
