Hall hosts music buy and sell to raise money Musical enthusiasts take note.
The Maitland community hall board of directors has come up with a unique idea to raise money. The board is hosting a fundraiser on May 23 where it will offer the public a chance to buy, sell or swap used musical instruments and equipment. "It's all things musical," said Wayne Hopfner, a musician, and member of the board. "It's basically going to be a place where we hope to bring together many hundreds of musicians and non-musicians alike." The buy and sell starts at the community hall on the Northfield Road at 9 a.m. and lasts until noon. The owner of a Bridgewater music shop will be on hand to help sellers find a fair price and examine instruments that may be in need of repair. Mr. Hopfner said the event is a good one if people have used instruments or equipment around the house they'd like to sell. Admission to the event is $2 and sellers pay a commission on items sold. All proceeds go to the community hall. posted on 05/12/09 |
