Splashes at the Bridgewater pool

With a dash of paint and a splash of water, the Bridgewater pool is just about ready to open!

Come join us for our opening-day barbecue on June 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. We will host games and competitions, and supply hot dogs, drinks and cake!

Don't forget! Swimming lesson registration is under way for each session so whether you are six months old, 10 years old or 50 years old, you can still sign up for swimming lessons at the parks and recreation office until June 29 or at the pool from June 29 onward.

We have seven levels for preschoolers, 10 levels for kids and even lessons for adults.

If your teen has finished lessons and wants to become a lifeguard, we are also offering bronze medallion and cross classes, as well as nationals and an assistant water safety instructor course.

If your teen has already taken some of these courses and would like some hands-on experience, the junior guard program is an excellent option.

Junior guards learn the fundamentals of scanning, teaching and pool maintenance, all under the supervision of our helpful and friendly staff.

We are also offering several specialty programs including synchronized swimming for beginners and for the more advanced students, dive days to practice that perfect diving technique, and our annual Kids of Steel Triathlon, to be held on Canada Day.

Any questions can be directed to the parks and recreation office on Pleasant Street (543-2274).

We are all looking forward to seeing everyone come out to meet the staff and have some fun in the sun at the Bridgewater Swimming Pool!
