Folk Harbour Festival seeks anniversary logo designby Robert Hirtle Are you a Lunenburg County high school student in Grades 9 to 12 with an active imagination and an artistic flair?
If so, then your talents could help you win some neat prizes compliments of the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society. Next summer marks the 25th anniversary of the popular festival and to celebrate the occasion, organizers thought it might be a good time to try and promote interest in the event among local youth. "Because it's our 25th anniversary this year, we're doing a whole bunch of different projects," explains society member Dorothy Easy. "I thought a good way to try to get more youth involvement in the festival is to do a contest for a T-shirt. It's just going to be specifically for youth." Entrants are asked to come up with a design which will help celebrate the landmark occasion based on either a musical or an anniversary theme. Entries should be drawn on white paper no larger than 8.5" x 11" and utilize no more than four colours. Only one submission per person will be accepted and deadline for entries is February 1, 2010. Creator of the winning design will receive a youth pass to the 2010 festival and a $100 gift certificate from Bridgewater Photo and Art Supply. Two runner-up prizes of $50 gift certificates will also be awarded. Entries may be mailed to the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society, P.O. Box 655, Lunenburg, B0J 2C0 or dropped off at 125 Montague Street in Lunenburg. posted on 12/01/09 |
