Fined for having marijuana COUNTY - A Harriston man was fined last week after he admitted having marijuana and illegally stored firearms.
Forty-year-old Loran William Adams was slated to go to trial on four allegations December 21 in Bridgewater provincial court. Those charges, including an allegation of possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, stemmed from a search of his property on January 16. Instead, Mr. Adams pleaded guilty to the included offence of indictable possession and was fined $805 on that charge. He also admitted having carelessly stored firearms and ammunition and was fined a further $460. Mr. Adams was banned from having firearms for two years. He will be on probation for a year when he was ordered to stay clear of drugs and take substance abuse counselling as directed. posted on 12/29/09 |
