Shotgun case heading to trialMan accused of hitting Mahone Bay homeby Lisa Brown COUNTY — A Mahone Bay man accused of blasting a shotgun at a home there back in March is taking his case to trial.
A lawyer appeared in Bridgewater provincial court July 28 on behalf of Justin Arthur Piercy and entered not guilty pleas to the 14 charges the 27 year old faces. Most of those allegations stem from events alleged to have happened early March 2. The RCMP responded to a 911 call just after midnight when a Fauxburg Road resident reported that there was someone outside his home with a gun. After firing at least two rounds in the vicinity of the house, allegedly hitting it and two vehicles, the suspect fled before police arrived. Mr. Piercy was arrested on the other side of Mahone Bay just outside town limits about 40 minutes later. He's now scheduled to go to trial on February 1 on a string of firearms offences, breaches of court orders, property damage and impaired driving charges. Another trial date has been set for January 31 on a property damage charge from December. He is accused of damaging a car at the same Fauxburg Road address. posted on 08/03/10 |
