Heat forces clinic to move Hot temperatures prompted Canadian Blood Services to move its donation clinic out of the Nova Scotia Community College - Lunenburg Campus.
Donors and blood services staff braved a non-air-conditioned environment in the college gym in Bridgewater September 1. Outside temperatures hit as high as 36 degrees C that day. There were reports of people at the clinic experiencing heat-related discomfort but a spokeswoman for Canadian Blood Services said the clinic was moved for precautionary reasons more than anything. "We didn't have any issues, just that the staff were just being proactive in saying, 'Hey, I think we better go somewhere else today to finish up our clinics in Bridgewater,'" Amanda Culled said. The clinic was moved across town to the air-conditioned salons at the Days Inn. posted on 09/07/10 |
