Put lives first As everyone knows, there have been six deaths in recent days on Highway 104. According to the Department of Transportation, 253 people died in accidents on Nova Scotia's highways in the past three years.
Yet the NDP government is planning to build a $10 million connector road in St. Margarets Bay that the community does not want or need. Instead, it should be spending that money on more important priorities, such as improving highway safety. Saving lives is more important than building a two-minute shortcut between St. Margarets Bay Road and Highway 103. Tell your local MLA and Transportation Minister Bill Estabrooks to scrap the connector and put that money into fixing dangerous sections of highways that are claiming lives.
