Ms Darnell brings a wealth of experience to the program, having worked in theatre management, designed programming for adults and children and acted in several local companies in Halifax and along the South Shore.
Since moving to the South Shore with her family, Ms Darnell has worked in the library at Bayview Community School in Mahone Bay where her favourite part of the school day was storytime with Primary to Grade 9 students. Themes for the fall session of Storytime include knitting and kittens, 10 little fingers, shoes, pumpkin pie, and froggies and doggies.
Storytime starts September 14 in Lunenburg library, September 15 in Bridgewater library and September 16 in Thomas H. Raddall Library in Liverpool. Join the members of the Lunenburg Book Club at the Lunenburg library on September 14 for the first meeting of the fall. "Wilderness Tips," by Margaret Atwood, is an award-winning collection of 10 stories that chart the complexities of modern life and explore the strange and secret places of the heart. The book club meets the second Tuesday of the month beginning at 7:30 p.m. Each month features a new selection. New members are welcome.
