Cruise line to visit Lunenburgby Robert Hirtle LUNENBURG - Crystal Cruises has announced that its liner Crystal Symphony will be making a one-day stop in Lunenburg during the fall of 2013.
According to its website, the company, which operates the two highest-rated ships in the world, has also been recognized as the world's best cruise line for the past 17 straight years. Their inaugural Lunenburg stop takes place on September 20, 2013, and is part of the line's 10-day Autumn Grandeur cruise which starts in Boston and travels to Bar Harbor, Maine, and Saint John, New Brunswick, before its 10-hour visit to the South Shore. After leaving Lunenburg, the ship travels to the Province of Quebec with stops at Baie-Comeau, Saguenay and Quebec City before the cruise wraps up in Montreal on September 26. The company's decision to place Lunenburg on its itinerary was the result of involvement by the Lunenburg Board of Trade and its president, Lorne Johanson, who travelled to New York last year to attend a cruise line symposium. posted on 01/04/12 |
