Swissair gives more money to fishermen

Fishermen who lost their source of income following the crash of Flight 111 are getting additional help from the airline.
Swissair has added another $20,000 to an emergency relief fund established last fall, bringing the total offered to date to $45,000. The original amount ran out earlier this month after 28 fishermen received $900 each.
About 350 tuna, lobster and mackerel fishermen were temporarily thrown out of work when the passenger jet went down September 2, killing all 229 people on board.
Swissair says using the fund would not prevent fishermen from suing for compensation, although it would reduce their claims.
