Divers search river for missing girl
posted on 02/05/08Divers entered the water shortly after 10:30 a.m. following about two hours of preparation. Tethered to an inflatable boat they began a systematic search back and forth along the river behind the Bridgewater Mall.
Sgt. John Collyer of the Bridgewater Police Service said that will stretch down river as far as Shipyards Landing.
There’s been no sign of the girl since January 27 when her mother left her in the family car outside the Sobeys store at the mall around 5:30 p.m. When Penny Boudreau returned about 15 minutes later, Karissa was gone.
Since then, a large-scale police investigation has had no results. Police officers went back up in a Department of Natural Resources helicopter for a second time Monday, scouring the river, areas around Bridgewater, and east and west along Highway 103 without success.
If anyone knows Karissa Boudreau’s whereabouts, they are asked to call the Bridgewater Police at 543-2464.
