A memorial service for 12-year-old Karissa Boudreau will be held Tuesday afternoon in Barrington.
On Saturday, the Nova Scotia medical examiner's office released the body of the slain Bridgewater girl to her father, Paul Boudreau, who is now making arrangements for her funeral. The service is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Karissa lived with her father in Shelburne over the summer and until mid-November when she chose to return to Bridgewater to live with her mother. Penny Boudreau reported her daughter missing on January 27. Karissa's frozen body was found on the bank of the LaHave River just outside town limits in Conquerall Bank on February 9.
On Thursday, police announced that the 12 year old had been murdered. They arrested two Bridgewater residents who were known to Karissa that day and held them for questioning for 24 hours before releasing them without laying charges. The investigation is continuing.<- go back to SouthShoreNow.ca
