Cinema to host live performances

The movie cinema in Bridgewater will start hosting live entertainment performances starting in April.

Empire Theatres and a newly established committee of volunteers have reached an agreement that will see one of the movie auditoriums temporarily set up to accommodate live entertainment.

The first event takes place on April 28 with the band Air Traffic Control taking the stage.

The idea is to have at least one event per month except for big-budget film release times in May and November.

Mayor Carroll Publicover said for a long time a venue for live performances has been needed in town.
