Each year, on November 11, Canadians across this great land gather together to honour those men and women who served our country during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War and subsequent conflicts throughout the world.
According to Veterans Affairs Canada, more than 1.5 million Canadians have offered themselves for our country and, in the course of conflicts stretching from the fields of France to the mountains of Afghanistan, more than 100,000 of those brave individuals have died. Here on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, we have a strong and proud tradition of service to our country and this Remembrance Day, we want to do our small part to help preserve the memory of those who have fought for, and continue to fight for, our rights and freedoms...
