Home burns near Lunenburg
A man sustained minor burns and his home was destroyed by fire Wednesday in a small community west of Lunenburg. Paramedics treated the homeowner, who escaped the blaze with his pet dog, for first degree burns and released him. Meanwhile, a five alarm blaze ravaged the man’s home at 76 Front Centre Road. Lunenburg Deputy Fire Chief Darren Romkey said the house fully engulfed when crews arrived on scene. Firefighters spent about four hours getting the flames fully extinguished. Lunenburg County RCMP said later the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
